Content Browser Interface

The Content Browser is divided into these areas:

The Navigation Bar contains asset controls, navigation between recent folder paths, and the current folder's breadcrumb trail.

1 Asset Control Buttons

Asset Control Buttons

These buttons provide the following functions:

  • Add : Add existing assets to the project or create a new one.
  • Import : Open a file browser and select assets to add to the project.
  • Save All : Save all assets with unsaved changes.

2 History Back and Forward Buttons

History Back and Forward Buttons

These work like a web browser's Back and Forward buttons, navigating between recent file paths.
3 Breadcrumb Trail Path

Breadcrumb Trail Path

Displays the current folder path. Click any folder to jump to it.

Sources Panel #

The Sources panel lists all project folders.

 
Number Name Description
1 Favorites Panel Contains references to assets added to Favorites.
2 Project Name The open project's name. Click its arrow to collapse or expand the folder list.
3 Search Buttons Open a search bar to narrow the folders in the associated panel. Filtering happens in real time, retaining names containing the entered characters.
4 Asset Tree A hierarchy of project folders, like Windows Explorer or macOS Finder. Click a folder's arrow to expand or collapse it.

Exclude folders by starting a search with a hyphen (-). For example, -anim hides folders whose names contain that text, such as Animation or Animator.

Collections #

The Collections panel lists all collections you can access.

 
Number Name Description
1 Collapse/Expand Button Collapses or expands the Collections area.
2 Add Collections Button Creates a collection.
3 Search Buttons Open a search bar to narrow the collection list. Filtering happens in real time, retaining names containing the entered characters.
4 Collection List An alphabetical list of this project's collections.
5 Asset Count Shows the number of assets in each collection.

Search and Filters #

The Search and Filters bar provides tools for quickly finding assets by name and type. The Asset View , which displays the selected folder's contents from Sources , updates dynamically based on these parameters.

 
Number Name Description
1 Search Bar Searches assets by name in real time, retaining names containing the entered characters.
2 Save Search Button Saves the current search as a collection so it can be reused.
3 Filters Button Opens Filters to customize the asset types displayed.

Asset View #

The Asset View shows assets in the selected folder or collection.

From the Asset View, you can:

  • Drag assets directly into the level.

  • Create and import assets from the context menu opened by right-clicking in the Asset View.

  • Create folders.

 
Number Name Description
1 Display Area Shows assets in the selected folders or collections after applying filters and search criteria.
2 Asset Count Shows the number of assets displayed after filtering and searching.

Settings Button #

Opens Settings , where you can configure:

  • View style: tiles, lists, or columns.

  • Search filters.

  • Content to include or exclude.

  • Search options.
